Delays in Settlement Fund Claim Submissions

As you know, the administrative pause on Settlement Fund claims processing and payment has ended. We are starting to see progress on processing, payments, and other crucial stages of the Settlement Fund process. However, there are delays in filing new claims through the Settlement Fund.

The Administrator’s office is replacing the current claim form with new forms going forward. These new forms are available only through the office’s online portal system, which they plan to launch later this month. Unfortunately, this means that we cannot move forward with filing new claims until we have access to these new forms. In the meantime, please be patient as we work through the changes to the claim forms. There is nothing for you to do right now, but please keep an eye out for any communication from our team, and respond to such outreach as quickly as possible.

We understand that any delays in the path to justice are frustrating. We are doing everything in our power to advocate for you, relay our collective concerns, and press the state at every stage for a more streamlined process. Despite this timing setback, we are pleased that the administrative pause has been lifted and we are seeing gradual yet meaningful movement on other Settlement Fund functions. Given these improvements, we encourage all eligible clients to consider submitting a claim to the Settlement Fund.

If we have already submitted a claim to the Settlement Fund for you or are in the process of submitting a claim on your behalf, please do not reach out directly to the Administrator’s Office to ask about your claim. They will not be able to answer your questions. Please contact us directly for any information about the status of your submission.
