SB 558 hearing on Thursday at NH State House
To our clients—
The New Hampshire State Senate will hold a hearing on SB 558 Thursday at 1:20 pm in State House Room 100.
This bill aims to undo all the changes that were made to the Settlement Fund last year. If enacted, the bill will put the Settlement Fund Administrator’s Office back under the supervision of the judicial branch and take away the Attorney General’s Office veto power on settlement offers made by the administrator.
Many of you have asked how you can help during this time. First, you can call or email your senator about this bill and ask for their support. You can look up your senator here: https://gc.nh.gov/Senate/members/wml.aspx.
You are also more than welcome to join us at the State House for this hearing on Thursday. If you plan to attend, please arrive by 1:00 pm so you can be seated prior to the start of the hearing. Also, note that no signs are allowed in the hearing room.
Our victim specialists will be available to connect with and support you. Look for Joelle Wiggin, who will be outside Room 100 wearing a nametag.
